In her landscape painting Sarah's focus is not so much to represent a view ; but to express a response to the powerful environment of the Isle of Lismore, her home. Living on a croft with 70 sheep, Sarah is deeply immersed in the land she portrays.
She returns to the same places repeatedly, especially Drum Bhan, a high point on the island. By painting the same view across different times of day and seasons, her work shows how dramatically light and weather can alter a landscape, reflecting a personal and evolving relationship with the land.
