Ballimackillichan Pod

Artisan Soul. Tiny Living. Big Character.

Ballimackillichan Pod is a "wee" accommodation with a massive heart.

Perfectly formed for two, this getaway offers a masterclass in compact living without compromising on style.

The interior is a gallery in itself, featuring hand-crafted furnishings and bespoke textiles by your host, designer Sarah Campbell. Whether you are here to hike the hills or hide away with a book, the pod provides a tactile, cozy sanctuary.

  • The Sleep Space: A comfortable sofa that easily converts into a double bed, complete with a mattress topper, cosy blankets, and hot water bottles for comfortable nights.

  • The Studio Touch: Integrated hanging space, shelves and drawers to keep your belongings tucked away.

  • The View: A private deck with a table and chairs and a view of the croft fields—the perfect spot for your morning coffee or a sunset drink.

The Outdoor Kitchen & Facilities

Embrace the "al fresco" lifestyle with our sheltered outdoor facilities, designed to keep you close to nature:

  • Kitchenette: Equipped with a microwave, fridge, and sink (cold water).

  • Amenities: A private compost toilet and a refreshing hot shower.

  • Practicalities: Covered outdoor storage space and a drying rack for your hiking gear

Life on the Croft

Your stay includes more than just a bed. Wander straight from the pod onto spectacular local walks, or explore the on-site gallery to see Sarah’s latest paintings, prints, cushions and more . We're also only a hop and a skip from the Isle of Lismore Cafe and heritage centre. Depending on the time of year, you can also purchase fresh, seasonal vegetables grown right here in the croft kitchen garden.

How to get here
Lismore is one of the few Scottish islands easily accessible by public transport. Catch a train or bus from Glasgow to Oban and then a  ferry from Oban to Lismore. The boat from Oban can accomodate cars but do book well in advance as capacity is limited. You can also drive to Port Appin and free park your car there, where there is a 5 minute foot passenger crossing to the island. We organise pick ups once you are on the island. More detailed information with timetable links and maps are sent out on booking.
