A new take on Printmaking

 

​Sarah Campbell's intaglio prints are a testament to her creative process and connection to the natural world. Instead of traditional etching plates, she uses discarded seed milk cartons, transforming them through a process of ripping, scraping, pressing and then wiping and clearing ink. The result is a unique piece of art that carries a sense of history and reinvention.

Each print is a reflection of her relationship to a specific place or plant. To deepen this connection, she often embosses plants, twigs, and found objects directly onto the paper, adding a tactile, three-dimensional element to the finished work.

Sarah embraces the unique qualities of her medium, incorporating the original crease lines and form of the milk carton into the composition. These subtle details become an integral part of the artwork, highlighting the beauty in repurposed materials and making each print truly one of a kind.
